I’m Stephanie and I head up Spring PR. I started Spring from scratch back in 2000 when PR and marketing were very different; we’re talking about lots of phone calls and transparencies attached to paper press releases. Now the world of PR has a dramatically different landscape and I have thoroughly enjoyed the journey. It’s been nothing if not creative!
I started as a PA, eventually working for a Director at a big blue chip but quickly realised that this didn’t play to my strengths. A course of A‘Levels, a degree, and a very fortuitous apprenticeship with Carlton Reid (Forbes travel writer, cycle lobbyist, and outdoor PR) landed me in PR and marketing and I couldn't be happier. In 1996 I had found my tribe too: cycling and outdoor active lifestyle enthusiasts. Today Spring PR can be found on the edge of the Cotswolds, right slap bang in the middle of an arboretum which is well used by the Spring team. We’re not too far from London either (the Thames starts from a spring just down the road) and we’re often hot-footing it to the Big Smoke for an event or meeting).
I wasn’t born an outdoor enthusiast, but I quickly became one after meeting my very outdoorsy husband. Today I can be found kayaking up a river, hiking over the Brecon Beacons, and camping on Dartmoor. I’m a skier and a huge fan of cycling. I have an electric bike that gives me the range and the stamina that I could only dream of! It’s also good for commuting as it’s around an hour’s bike ride to work so makes the getting home leg more palatable if it’s raining.
Spring PR has an awesome team, and I don’t say this lightly. It’s taken time to find the perfect fit and I believe we have achieved that here at Spring. I’m incredibly proud to be at the helm of such an awesome bunch and feel privileged to have carved out a career in something that, at one point in my life, I didn’t even know was my passion!
